Smash* Booking!

So in my last post I mentioned I have a smash book. Now if you are like me pre May 2013 and you don't know what a smash book is, let me just revolutionise your life with the joys of "Smashing"!

Smash booking is basically just scrapbooking without the pressure of having to colour coordinate and make it perfect! I ended up with piles of train tickets, photo's, leaflets, cinema tickets etc. that I was expecting to magically end up in a beautiful scrapbook one day without me having to stress over the page or make an effort!! It is a book that is supposed to be like your junk drawer (or in my case, random plastic wallets stuffed with memorabilia of places I'd been!) that you "smash" into a book. I shall attach a link from K & Company who make their own Smash* books which will give you a better idea than the picture I am painting you!

Now if you already know what a Smash* book is I am sorry for repeating information you already know but I get so passionate about it that I just want EVERYONE to know about them!!

So at the beginning of May I was just surfing the web for crafting items as per usual and I came across someone who said that they had used a 'Smash Stick'. Now I was like "Huh, what is a Smash Stick?" and so then started my google search that ended up with me spending HOURS online looking at Smash books! Have you ever found something that you have been looking for without realising but didn't know exist? Well that night I had a life changing moment! It sounds dramatic but it really changed my view on scrapbooking! Now when I go out I am constantly collecting items to stick in my smash book! Even my friends and family hand me things like receipts or tickets and say "Hey I saved this so you could stick it in your smash book!"

On May 21st I started my first (of many to come I am sure) Smash book. I know this date because it is my mothers birthday! That night I first found them I ran into my mother and told her all about them, and showed her the video I attached above. She then asked if I would get her one for her birthday and when ordering hers I ordered myself one too! However that meant I had to wait until I'd given her hers until I could start mine! Selfishly I was looking more forward to her birthday, not so much as to celebrate it with her, (which of course I was!) but to start my smash book!

Anyway, enough ranting and raving about them! I have talked enough tonight about it! I will soon post some pictures of my pages and you will see what I am on about!

Hope you're well

xx
