Now, these 2 pages are the last of 8 I am going to do on the same topic, however I started at the end. I recently went to the seaside with my family for the day and we had a great time and got LOTS of pictures (hence why I need 8 pages to complete my visual memory of the day!)
Look at all the mess I am making! |
Aww, don't we all look like we're having a lovely day! |
So I got my inspiration for this page from Corene from Corenescreations on youtube. She is an incredible lady who films the process of her making a smash book page! They are so inspirational and very helpful especially if you're just starting out!
When doing this page I accidentally cut out my triangles 3/4 inch too small! So I had to do a lot of wiggling around of the triangles to make them fit! I had to take the two photo's at the top so I knew which order I had put the triangles in when I moved them to glue them down!!
When I had eveeentually got them in the right order and had photographed their whereabouts on the page I inked the edges with some Vintage photo distress ink from Tim Holtz and stuck all the pieces down! I then matt and layered the photo onto some pretty paper I had, stuck 2 strips of navy paper on the top and bottom to hide my edges, and then stuck a happy sticker onto a piece of white card and cut it in a ribbon point shape thingymabob!
This page was a little more straightforward. The pages in SMASH* books are all patterned but sometimes the patterns don't match your theme. When this event occurs I normally just stick a pretty patterned paper over the top and I'm sorted! Today I used a piece from an Amy Tangerine 12 x 12 pack I had lying around. I then cut two strips from the left over paper I had from making my triangles and stuck two photos over the top. I used these strips to hold some of my journalling! At the bottom you may be able to tell that I used some of my left over triangles to create rectangles! I then stuck them all at the bottom so that the colour scheme was continuous!
The camera cut outs were actually printed out from this fantastic website of free printables from Rebecca! She is incredible and posts new printables very often!
I also finished the page off with another paper ribbon point thing and a sticker with the word 'Joy'.
The End product!! |
I hope this has given you some insight into my smash world and some new links that will cause you to spend hours like me watching youtube videos and searching free printables!
Hope you're well xx
